If you are looking forward to purchasing a compact SUV with every spec in place, the 2021 Trax is the ideal model to go for. The Trax offers SUV-like versatility and sedan comfort. The cabin is well crafted, and despite its general size, Trax offers generous seating spaces. The driver's seat is well raised to provide drivers with maximum Pittsburgh road visibility, and the rear seats offer ample head and leg rooms.

The infotainment is easy-to-use with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Various changes have been made to the new 2021 model. Notably, the new Trax drops the top Premier trim, remaining with only two trims in the lineup, the LT and the LS. There is also deletion of the Bose stereo, Sun and Sound package, Brandy-colored interior themes, and a power sunroof.

However, the deletion doesn't mean the features are entirely out of your reach. The new Trax adds other premium specs, including a Convenience package with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a push-button start system, passive keyless entry, and an adjustable drivers' seat. It also gets Premium Seat Package with heated front seats and faux-leather upholstery.

INTERIOR & TECHNOLOGY

High seating positions with excellent head rooms make the Trax feel refined and comfy. The cabin is also airy, as much as it gets a little squeezed in the rear. The new machine gets standard infotainment which is friendly-usable and much responsive. The dashboard receives various stitched inserts, and venturing down lets you meet various weather control features.

Compared to other models, Trax doesn't offer the largest cargo room, but space is enough for moderate luggage. The rear seats, however, can be folded and stowed to maximize the storage space. Connectivity comes with an available 7.0-inch screen, which is found on all Trax 2021 models. Your passengers can also stay connected with the available WIFI Hotspot, and charging comes with USB ports.

Safety technologies have also been put in place to ensure every trip from Bethel Park to McKees Rocks is protected. Trax gets a rear vision camera, which helps reverse and display back images in the car's infotainment. It also gets an available blind zone alert system that provides visual alerts when vehicles are detected on the sides. A rear cross-traffic alert system is another superior technology that ensures you get audio and visual cues if there are objects behind you while reversing. It is all about avoiding collision, thanks to the available rear park assist.

Additionally, Trax gets various Active Technology features, consisting of a variety of safety technologies. These include emergency braking, forward collision avoidance system, lane-keeping, and vehicle following distance indicator. Driver assistance features include a safety alert seat, OnStar technology, and a Teen Driver.

PERFORMANCE

The Trax doesn't offer multiple engine choices. Instead, every buyer will have to cope with the available 1.4l engine that churns out a horsepower of 138. The turbocharger four-cylinder system provides excellent refinement on city drives. You can link the SUV's powertrain to either a front-wheel or all-wheel drive. In our road testing, the front-drive engine takes 9.3 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph.
