When some American automakers find sales success with a model generation, they often stick to their tried-and-true formula without significantly changing new model years. Chevrolet does not follow such strategies. Instead, it continues to improve successful lineups, as observed in the new Silverado 1500 and its range of trim levels available at Classic Chevrolet in Bellevue, PA.
The fourth generation of the Chevy Silverado 1500 has gone through four model years, and it has already been redesigned once through a mid-cycle refresh process. This full-size pick-up truck now offers three powertrain options:
- TurboMax 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder
- Duramax 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 diesel
- GM 6.2-liter V8
The new Silverado 1500 trim with the Duramax powertrain option is the ZR2, an off-road race-ready truck. Increasing the efficiency of the 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet torque of the Duramax powertrain, it's paired with an Allison heavy-duty automatic transmission.
The current Silverado lineup presents a distinction for interior comfort and technology across the nine trim levels. If you want a traditional and functional cabin, you will find it in the Work Truck, Custom, and Trail Boss trim levels. The interior is completely redesigned from LT to High Country and ZR2 trims, including leather upholstery, wood trim, storage bins, and a fully digital dashboard.
When technology is essential for choosing a new pick-up truck, you'll want to see the Silverado trims starting with the LT. The current tech package replaces the instrument cluster of gauges with side-by-side displays. The new Chevy infotainment touchscreen measures 13.4 inches in landscape mode; it runs on a custom version of the Android Auto™ operating system that connects to Apple devices through CarPlay connectivity.
